A Silhouette of Dreams

This week’s poem for Facebook Group: Poetry in Motion.

The Melody of Rain

With a minstrel’s heart she sings
Passions flow from knowing lips
Fingers caress with gentle touch
Caught in a silhouette of dreams

Moonlight moves toward slumber
Storm clouds choke morning light
Melody of rain mingles with music
And shadows dance in silver mists

In my minds eye over in an instant
But a lifetime felt on body and soul
Desires released and free to wander
A perfect moment of unending bliss

The Melody of Rain

April in Paris

This weeks poem for the Facebook Group Poetry in Motion. A picture prompt:

A Sweet Melody

With all the clichés and all the reasons for Paris
“April in Paris” strolls through my mind once again
The smell of blossoms rustles through my memories
As its sweet melody takes me back and so far away

Those sunny days walking together hand in hand
Spring in the air and a warm breeze in your hair
As April showers brought sweet kisses in the rain
And your smiling eyes saying all I wanted to hear

Time moves quickly now and so many memories fade
April and tea for two with you under swaying trees remains
Regrets build upon regrets with thoughts of you waiting
Expectant eyes scanning the crowd longing for my return

Searching through love songs for the perfect phrases
Reading lost intros and finding melodies we shared
Forgotten words come to life from memories of old
But none compare to the warm embrace of “April in Paris”
