Micro Poetry Times Five – Three

Mid-morning thoughts float on by
Watching clouds part in a blue sky
Then back to the daily grind
As storm clouds gather in my mind

Droning hiss of pouring rain
Drip, drop from the kitchen sink
Discordant melodies merge
….stillness descends

Words of truth
Words of wisdom
Words unspoken
Silent words

Passing moments in time
Some brief, some linger
Others weigh heavy
Longing to be lifted
And pass on to better times

I can feel the heat of darkness burning
Consumed in the flames of desire
Lost in the light of an early dawn

The Melody Lingers

Dreams and Autumn Years

Twilight dreams begin memories
Shadows dance in pale light
Leaves murmur in cool evening breeze
Melodies of lost time
Searching for words to sing again
Remembering the joy
Those youthful days of long ago
Where darkness never dawned

In the silence of the moment
My thoughts begin to stir
Past times echo at the edges
Those long lost summer days
Sharing hopes and dreams through the night
Living in the moment
Going wherever passions led
Exploring shared desires

Magical moments full of song
Joyous tunes meant for us
Never knowing that it would end
But heartfelt all the same
Shared melodies of innocence
For things we could not know
Present shared and futures unknown
Living in the moment

Twilight has moved with the shadows
The sun sets, moon rises
The chill of the night rouses me
Thoughts twinkle with the stars
High above and as deep inside
Forever there and bright
Darkness now lighted from the past
A guide through autumn years

It’s Her Disguise

Adrenaline Eyes

She spoke in a whisper, her name was Sophie
Voice so sweet, lips so moist
A gaze that excites from afar
Green eyes bright, shading your darkness

Adrenaline eyes
It’s her disguise
She’s got adrenaline eyes

She looked right by me as she went straight through me
She thinks she rules in her high heeled shoes
She’s got the look
She’s got it all
With her camouflaged disguise

Adrenaline eyes
It’s her disguise
She’s got adrenaline eyes

With a body made for pleasure
She knows how to pose

Adrenaline eyes
It’s her disguise
She’s got adrenaline eyes

“Hotel California” was playing in the background
She has such a lovely face, such a lovely face
Wearing satin and lace, a view so fine
Awakening desires in the dark corners of my mind

Adrenaline eyes
It’s her disguise
She’s got adrenaline eyes

Sophie you’re a long, long way from home
Come in from the darkness and the rain
Shed your mask, end your pain
Let wisdom, the light of your name, guide you

Adrenaline eyes
It’s her disguise
She’s got adrenaline eyes

So young, so fine, skin soft as wine
The intake of your breath, the rise of your breasts
A haze of temptation fills the air, with its heady scent
A smile so wide with rosie cheeks and dimpled blush
The sparkle in your eyes tells me, you need to be mine

Adrenaline eyes
It’s her disguise
She’s got adrenaline eyes

With a body made for pleasure
She knows how to pose

She looked right by me as she went straight through me
She thinks she rules in her high heeled shoes
She’s got the look
She’s got it all
With her camouflaged disguise

Adrenaline eyes
It’s her disguise
She’s got adrenaline eyes

“Hotel California” was playing in the background
She has such a lovely face, such a lovely face
She has such a lovely face, such a lovely face
She has such a lovely face, such a lovely face
She has such a lovely face, such a lovely face

Tales Untold

A Cauldron of Darkness

Knights in shining amour searching for her prayers
Protecting her from the angels of the spire
Longing for victims broken hearted
Unholy rapture calling out her name
Pleading with saints for her undying love
Words from a tale hauntingly familiar

A fevered dream at the gates of her awakening
Unable to hold on – as if nothing else matters
For the vagrant thoughts she once had
Holding the rosary chanting words of freedom
Looking for answers in the depth of despair

Pausing for moments of silence of a former life
Stripped bare, holding nothing but dreams
Running through her thoughts like cold rain
Evaporating in the mist of lost chances
A wanderer without purpose

Clutching to fragments of experience
A weary solace not all her own
Reaching out caressing ghostly visions
Swarming on the edges of desire
Light of release finally dawning

When she could feel no more her demons ran free
Bursting forth, no longer able to contain them
Dangers lurking on the knife edge of deceit
Near the end when she could cry no more
Answers came with the fear of losing all

On the roof tops of her misery
Delights of her desires take fight
Circling a cauldron of darkness
Shadows of pleasures unknown
Dancing their seductive dance
Bewitching in their movements

A few moments more before the nightmare returns
And the harpies of doubt scream their displeasure
Harbingers of deceit and self-loathing
To float away on clouds of anticipation
For her one true desire, keeping the darkness at bay

Her knights in shining amour continue searching
For the tales untold by wandering minstrels
Songs of holy choirs, voices muted by abandon
Echo in the stillness of her thoughts and dreams
Words and music merging with fond remembrance

Haiku Roundup Number 7

Afternoon delight
Pausing to ponder the day
Lost in emptiness

A voice from the past
Where time and hope converges
Before shadows move

Midsummer longing
Like a leaf upon the wind
Words without a song

Jet trails cross the sky
Sun reflects on metal wings
Returns to reading

Evening drops excite
Succulent petals open
From a gentle kiss

Obsessed misery
Born out of a dark fiction
Released from time’s weight

Wild and overgrown
My garden of broken dreams
Forever in bloom

I passed a mirror
In reflecting I did find
An end to begin

Creativity
Individualistic
Assimilation

Drowning in your gaze
Grey eyes sparkle with laughter
Moments lost in time

Memories unlocked
From the darkness deep inside
Shadows fear to tread

Unspoken feelings
Reading lips with just one touch
Melodies linger

Bound for my pleasure
Eyes devour, touch excites
Reading a new book

Your evening unfolds
With bright lights and gaiety
Where no shadows fall

Eyes heavy, day’s done
Sleep is but a dream away
Party starts next door

Music off, birds sing
It’s a late morning rising
Day dreaming begins

She’s my addiction
Just one kiss and I am hooked
Can leave anytime

Rain hits my window
With a soft pitter-patter
Tearful melody

The rain has now passed
Clouds hang heavy in the sky
Joyous laughter heard

Escape is freedom
Transported on silent words
Cover to cover

The night remembers
Darkness hums a mournful tune
Cue the morning dew

Haiku Roundup Number 5

Noises faintly heard
Echoing near the edges
It’s time for breakfast

Darkness closes in
At the twilight of the day
Turns light on to read

Gentle sound of rain
Stillness with a melody
Seeps into your thoughts

The bluebell scent sways
Carried on a sunlit breeze
Forever in bloom

Lightening throws shadows
Wanderers in the darkness
Longing for silence

Smell of last night’s rain
The dawn chorus, loud and strong
I’ll have a lie in

Rain captured in time
Like tiny green pools of tears
Joy bursts forth freely

Clouds capture the sun
Leaves twinkle in gentle breeze
Beauty in times wake

Captured in your eyes
Words released with a smile
Ink flows, pages filled

Thunderheads circling
A rolling cacophony
Searching for silence

Whispers heard on stage
Their sorrows and dreams play on
Silhouettes of joy

Books, row upon row
Gentle soldiers of culture
Their words escape death

Billboards pass me by
Promising dreams for a price
Speed of traffic blurs

Heat of noonday sun
A stillness moves with the breeze
Thoughts darkened with time

Night air cool and calm
Clouds circle a shining moon
Exhale cares and woes

Awake but sleepy
A stretch, a groan starts the day
It’s only a dream

From the days of old
Grecian temple out of time
Wonders to explore

From royal drawers
Blast and knickers was the cry
Secrets now revealed

There once was silence
Nitrate flickered to times changed
Lights dimmed, words remain

A few words were said
Silence read from the pages
Truth can’t be hidden

Notes reverberate
Dancing upon live wires
Echoes of lost times

Heat of day released
Still air in twilight thickness
Cool darkness moves in

Woken in the night
Hushed voices heard, floorboards creak
Fuzzy mind races

CV, life’s story
Truth and nothing but the truth
Love reading fiction

A quiet Sunday
The sound of pages turning
Floating on the words

Searching memories
Photo album fills in gaps
Hidden, locked away

Haiku Roundup Number 4

Cars rush by outside
A pint in hand, oak beams glow
The past is so near

Thoughts begin to flow
Shaken from uncertainty
Whispered touch of lips

Push play, music starts
Echo emotions within
Time is Motionless

Angry voices raised
Words said before thoughts appear
Echoes of the past

Thoughts wander in fright
Shadows move into the light
Darkness captures all

Decisions are made
Without thought or care for you
Light flickers and dims

Twilight closing in
June is here, summer is here
Where are the long nights?

Echoes in my mind
Mending broken memories
Pain and joy unite

Wind rustles the leaves
Creaking limbs moan in protest
Saw and axe solves all

Outside all is still
In my head dark clouds converge
Could it be a dream?

Awake in the night
Searching for thoughts that comfort
Dreams will never rest

The dust devils dance
Grey rock bakes in noonday sun
Look on in wonder

Footsteps on the stairs
Sound echoes through empty halls
Thunder of silence

The curve of your neck
The gentle tone of your voice
Haunts me forever

Night has awoken
Darkness is still and silent
The howling wolf knows

Thoughts turn to 6 June
Echoes of the day remain
Their currents run deep

Noonday sun shines bright
Shadows short, yearning to stretch
To disappear in the night

Tears of joy run free
The light of dreams in your eyes
Hope, like rain cleanses

Light through frosted glass
Truth blurred, leaving doubt behind
Open and be free

Haiku Roundup Number 3

Nitrate dreams on screen
Poetry of emotions
Eyes echo silence

Black clouds moving in
Sun dims to a golden hue
Ozone fills the air

Fear without thinking
Believing without question
War of the Worlds

Rain and cloudy skies
A morning chill passes through
Warmth of your smile

Through a smoky haze
Hush descends, music rises
Projector whirls

The look in your eyes
Like music caressing me
A tune without words

Tears tear through the pain
Touch excites, desires weep
Moonlight covers all

With the sun birds chirp
A dance to announce the dawn
Soon silence in fright

Alone in the night
Whispering shadows advance
Stillness lights the way

Hope is all we have
Darkness wraps round holding tight
Comfort in the night

A thunder clap rolls
Rain hisses as it descends
Memories pour forth

Echoes in my mind
Mending broken memories
Pain and joy unite

Music for a dance
Melodic movements entice
Carousel of time

Memories haunt me
Sweet smiles imprison me
Your touch frees my soul

When I close my eyes
Your scent is with me always
A taste of sadness

Words enter my soul
Lost within their clarity
Melodies linger

Dreams floating on air
Golden age of radio
Words free to wander

Cut into shellac
78 RPM
Immortality

A Briefest of Seconds

A Solitary Moment

Into the darkness we take pain
With loneliness as its companion
Always there whether day or night
Strength built through acceptance

Born in darkness, strengthened by time
Forged from wounded heart and soul
Tested with light, longing for solitude
Unbroken, stepping forth, searching

With excitement, hope and fear
Ghostly voices in every direction
Igniting the cold embers of passion
Desires fueling the raging fire within

Chance meeting, without expectations
Conversation begins, friendship blooms
Building connections, forging a bond
Leading onward as the evening fades

The setting sun sinks low in the sky
Grey clouds turn to purple and red
A spray of colour covers one and all
Blue eyes reflecting the dying light

A solitary moment held in your gaze
Your hand in mine breaks the silence
This wordless dance ending in a flash
Echo of thunder rolls in the distance

In a briefest of seconds lives change
Nothing remains the same, all is new
Searching in the darkness leads here
Our journey begun, together as one

Secrets Held Firm

Stillness Gathers

Sun cutting through grey clouds, blinding
Winds gust, cold from the north, biting
Leaves rustle, twirl and blow, frantically
Searching for a place to call home, shelter

Head bent low I follow the twisting steep lane
Click, clack footfall on smooth, worn cobbles
Legs pumping, straining like a steam engine
Puffing with every turn, every clicking step

Respite in a weathered inn, steps worn and aged
Shinning like glass and dark as the looming sky
Wearied mind and body at rest, time to ponder
Tick, tock, tick, tock, time rushes on, light fades

Black rain obscuring sunshine, drenching
Cut glass panes magnifying vision, blurring
Wind blowing, branches screeching, protesting
Darkness creeps in, blotting out day, twilight

Lamplight throws shadows, exposing the past
Stone floor slabs twinkle in ebony blackness
Gaps between capturing dreams and desires
Locked away, protected, hidden from the light

Crooked beams, aged with time, with toil, fatigued
Groaning joints moan with times weight, weary
Darkened by smoke, hands and sweat, dulled
Secrets held firm in cracks and seams, yearning

Ghostly voices reaching forth, longing for freedom
I sit silently and listen, their whispered tales of loss
Mournful in their cries, singing sadly to themselves
All their grief, all their pain raging forth all around

Centuries of memories released from cracks, escaping
Raw emotions shriek, lightning strikes sound, flashing
Tears flow through the neglected thatch roof, pooling
Glistening in firelight, torments unleashed, flickering

Winds die down, rain eases, pain and anger at rest
Storms made their mark, allowing the rage to pass
Flames leap forth in their joyous dance of pleasure
Happy memories pour forth, glowing and crackling

Visions of togetherness, of loneliness, joining
Smoke swirls, entwined becoming one, fading
Sweet smells, their legacy of euphoria, lingers
Washing over me and through me, serenity

Contentment holds me, calm descends throughout
Listening to their tales, easing heart, mind and soul
Joy living in harmony with pain, scars softened by time
Stillness gathers round, wrapping me tight and warm
