This week’s poem for Facebook Group: Poetry in Motion.
Moments
Carefree school days
Long summer nights
Magical Christmas mornings
And becoming lost in a book
Are memories you once had
Excitement of your fist kiss
Followed by heartbreaks
Getting your first job
And moving out on your own
Are memories you once had
Finding the love of your life
Happiness on your wedding day
Making a home for both of you
And planning for the future
Are memories you once had
Holding your first born
Joy of her first steps
First day of school
And all those other “firsts”
Are memories you once had
Sleepless nights as she grew up
Full of pride on graduation day
Sadness when she left home
And tears on her wedding day
Are memories you once had
Delight in holding your grandson
Devastated when your parents passed away
Growing old surrounded by those you love
And the pain of loosing your beloved
Are memories you once had
Confused as past moments fade
Feeling scared and all alone
Familiar faces are now strangers
And you are no longer safe at home
….are memories you now have

Thanks. And I think that was partly what I wanted for it.
