A Doris Day Tanka

With blue eyes smiling
From big band to silver screen
Que Sera, Sera
Dreams preserved in celluloid
A sentimental journey

A Doris Day Tanka

It’s Her Disguise

Adrenaline Eyes

She spoke in a whisper, her name was Sophie
Voice so sweet, lips so moist
A gaze that excites from afar
Green eyes bright, shading your darkness

Adrenaline eyes
It’s her disguise
She’s got adrenaline eyes

She looked right by me as she went straight through me
She thinks she rules in her high heeled shoes
She’s got the look
She’s got it all
With her camouflaged disguise

Adrenaline eyes
It’s her disguise
She’s got adrenaline eyes

With a body made for pleasure
She knows how to pose

Adrenaline eyes
It’s her disguise
She’s got adrenaline eyes

“Hotel California” was playing in the background
She has such a lovely face, such a lovely face
Wearing satin and lace, a view so fine
Awakening desires in the dark corners of my mind

Adrenaline eyes
It’s her disguise
She’s got adrenaline eyes

Sophie you’re a long, long way from home
Come in from the darkness and the rain
Shed your mask, end your pain
Let wisdom, the light of your name, guide you

Adrenaline eyes
It’s her disguise
She’s got adrenaline eyes

So young, so fine, skin soft as wine
The intake of your breath, the rise of your breasts
A haze of temptation fills the air, with its heady scent
A smile so wide with rosie cheeks and dimpled blush
The sparkle in your eyes tells me, you need to be mine

Adrenaline eyes
It’s her disguise
She’s got adrenaline eyes

With a body made for pleasure
She knows how to pose

She looked right by me as she went straight through me
She thinks she rules in her high heeled shoes
She’s got the look
She’s got it all
With her camouflaged disguise

Adrenaline eyes
It’s her disguise
She’s got adrenaline eyes

“Hotel California” was playing in the background
She has such a lovely face, such a lovely face
She has such a lovely face, such a lovely face
She has such a lovely face, such a lovely face
She has such a lovely face, such a lovely face

From the Maelstrom

The Solitude of Time

Lighted by fear and loneliness
Explored in times of sadness
Relived, regretted and enjoyed
Filed away until needed again

The solitude of time cuts deep
Scared memories hidden away
Side by side with happiness
In dark corners, never forgotten

Moving on but never forward
Abandoning hope, only living
Existence of toil and heartache
Until dark thoughts abandoned

Fear ensues as light exposes
Searching with hopeful eyes
Accepting with an open heart
Infinite understanding in a glance

In the maelstrom eyes meet
Blue looking deep into green
Words exchanged, fears eased
Moving forward and exploring

Kindred hearts and desires
Finding a common language
Understood and unspoken
Relaxed and content as one

Soft lips touch with excitement
Fingers run through silky hair
Words muffled by passion
Search ended, journey begins

Cool of night excites the skin
Heightened by warm hands
Firm caresses ever roaming
Quickening breath and heart

Desires seep forth, tasting freedom
A single touch, endless possibilities
Unleashed, exposed and sensitive
Longing for the intensity of contact

Forgotten pleasures re-awakening
Tears of joy and ecstasy flow freely
Thoughts long held in check, echo
Clutching them closely, holding tight
