Sharing Stories
Cast out from time’s fickle ways
Currents have stilled
Silence envelops in its tight embrace
Thoughts and memories evaporate
Limestone, row upon row
Moss dripping down
Centuries old, weather worn
Chiselled words fade with time
Once vibrant and clear
Names now misplaced
All but forgotten and lost forever
Scribbled in a dusty register
The roaring cry of grief muffled
Light slips away
Sadness washed into the darkness
Stillness surrounds and comforts
Tears gathered in remembrance
Sharing stories
Inward feelings of loss suppressed
As a life is rejoiced
