A Moment in Time
Caught in this brief moment in time
Lost worlds collide, forming clarity
Fixed illusions dissipate into nothing
Words coalesce, framing perceptions
Lives once sure now become unstuck
Random thoughts compete for stability
Finding only certainty in the mundane
And order in the chaos left behind
Discarded memories search for comfort
Only to be flung into an abyss of despair
Torn apart by deceit, treachery and fear
Voices chant a mournful lament of shame
Tears flow in rhythm to the falling rain
Washed away, hidden from prying eyes
A practiced smile worn for everyday use
Hidden in this briefest moment in time
