Ribbons of Silk

Bellow is my posting for this week’s prompt on the Facebook Group: Poetry in Motion.

Borrowed Words

Seduction timed and on cue
Passions borrowed
Desires rehearsed
Lost in darkness
Cold and grey

Disguising a bitter taste
A chocolate cover envelops
Wrapped in red satin and lace
Tied with ribbons of silk

The story unfolds
Tales rewritten and retold
Shifting syntax
Underlies the difficulty
With loss of insight
From words that no longer excite
But safewords nonetheless

Pages torn from a book
Scene after scene
Learned to perfection
Yearning to be directed
Guided and comforted

Alone and unsure
Imagination drifts
Open and exposed
As secrets are revealed
With words borrowed
Longing for release
