Faces and Places
Watching strange faces
Sitting in strange spaces
Longing to belong
Learning to sing their song
Searching for choices
Hearing many voices
With tears running rife
Pretending it’s real life
Living out of pace
Being in the wrong place
Feeling past my prime
And running out of time

This is a very common mentality we can all get ourselves into but of course we don’t have to, we do have a choice..

Thank you for your comment Mathew. You are right we can choose. One thing I will add is that a poem does not always represent current thoughts of the writer.
