Silent Waves
Choirs sing and church bells ring
Shadows linger on summer’s eve
Twilight slinks away like a dream
A forsaken lament in fading light
Silent waves break on the shore
Receding like thoughts in fright
A pale moon rises far to the east
Casting shadows instead of light
A midnight breeze rustles leaves
Humming and swaying with glee
Cool showers dampen the ground
Silence descends, waiting for dawn
Swathes of bright light reach forth
Red and purple emblazon the sky
Stillness broken with joyous song
Its misty echo announces the day

The poem’s melody is rather rugged, if you permit my to say so, which makes it a difficult reading. That is, for me, of course. 🙂

It is not as straight forward as my others nor as long so it is different in many aspects. Without knowing how a piece is received it is difficult to know if what I have done works or does not work. So thank you for you for taking the time to comment
