Forged in Darkness
I want to hold you tight in my arms
Tighter than you’ve ever been held
I want to hear your heart beating
Feel your hot breath on my neck
For you to surrender your fears
Knowing you are safe and warm
Letting me into those dark places
Sharing the darkness deep inside
To see the trust flow from your eyes
Replacing welling tears with hope
Wiping away those tear stained lines
Leaving smiling eyes filled with joy
Moving forward, leaving the past behind
Mending broken thoughts, healing scars
Strengthened by this promise to share
Forged in darkness, tempered by pain
