Splintering Her Fears

Exposed in A Glance

In the darkness she feels safe
The blackness wraps round her
A blanket, comforting and warm
Unseeing and unseen, free

In the light cracks appear
Fear and loneliness escape
Smiles attempt to contain
Green eyes cannot hide

Once she had dreams
Once she had desires
Long ago forgotten
Discouraged and forlorn

Building invisible walls
A glass cage surrounds
Unseen by all but one
Exposed in a glance

With soft caresses
Her cage will shatter
Splintering her fears
An instant of pleasure
